That place got its reputation ages ago, when a lot of wrestlers were the evolution of carnies. They probably mostly ate fast food on the road and many grew up eating junk. And I'm willing to het 20-30 years ago the options in japan were way more limited.
It reminds me of a good friend. The guy only eats fast food (to this day). He wont even eat chinese because its "weird". But fast food is what he grew up on. As adults we went on a group trip to the uk and he complained about the food constantly. It was different, but there are plenty of options if you are willing to try stuff. He would rejoice when we'd find a McDonald's or kfc to go to. Some people just like what they know. I bet a lot of wrestlers were like that back then.
