He got no PPV points on his 2nd fight because he was in a nothing fight with minimal hype buried on the undercard (it was originally going to be on the prelims). He made possibly around $1m from his first fight (500k to show + his PPV share. AJ Lee said he made a million which is probably right), and 500k max from his 2nd fight, assuming Dana contractually had to pay him 500k to show again. So CM Punk, before deductions for expenses, made $1.5m max for embarrassing himself in the UFC

Have you watched UFC recently? Not working a gimmick here brother, but I haven’t seen anything like that in a good long while where even half the minutes were on the ground. To put it in perspective the last big UFC card had 0 (Zero) takedowns and every guy was landing over 50% on strikes. The Adesanya fight was boring for a different reason but there was no humping for 9/10’s of the card. I don’t really like watching Usman and he’s the top pound for pound guy allegedly but there’s tons of talent in the octagon at the moment. Is it as fun as watching peak PRIDE? No, but it’s legit more entertaining than anything any wrestling promotion is doing sorry to say.

That's my take. Dana was just milking Punk as some kind of underdog from pro wrestling, which already had a bad reputation amongst mmgays anyway. Most people already knew that Punk wasn't shit. If I had the opportunity to essentially be a televised sparring partner for someone on UFC PPV I'd do it for the money he got paid.
