I'm against it, but NJPW is clearly headed towards being a men's and women's promotion.
They're putting the women in dark matches and already talking about doing intergender matches on that one show coming up. Eventually, they'll start putting the girls on NJPW cards, then they'll put a second girls match on the cards, then main events. Then they'll slowly start doing intergender matches and they'll start bringing in the transexual wrestlers as well. It's the same thing that happened in the US. The girls were barely featured at all a decade ago, now every promotion has them. Nobody ever did intergender wrestling outside of special circumstances, now tons of promotions are going it.
I don't want it, but it's a reverse kafka trap:
>"The promotion is declining. Let's bring in the girls to make quick money off the idol fans."
>"The promotion is doing well. They must really like seeing the girls, let's bring in more!"
And the alternatives aren't much better because DDT already does it, All Japan is about to start doing it, GLEAT does it, Freedoms does it, Zero-1 does it and BJW has done it. Noah even technically has done it through the Cyberfight Festival, though they will probably be the last holdouts along with Dragon Gate.
