They have been shown to be friends a couple of times, but it's always in subtle ways like she'll be the one to check on him when he's jumped or he finishes talking to her on his way to start his match or do an interview or whatever.
The problem there is how subtle it is. It's there, but not really in your face enough to notice in casual watching or following highlights.
