Exercising and eating well go a long way. Even if with the roids/freak genetics arguments there’s still a fair amount of work you have to put in to look like that at his age. Same with Ken Shamrock and Bobby Lashley.

his body is still pretty beaten up from all the years of taking bumps (nowhere near the level of most others though) in some of his workout vids you see he has to adjust some lifts to compensate for that

Takes good care of himself.
Didn't do a lot of crazy bumps that took years off his career.
