If they just swap a characters race to secure funding like they do in most post-2016 films to meet some quota it’s whatever. People really into Lord of the Rings are going to seethe though. Not only were nogs not elves but they have a place in-universe and it’s as savages that sided with the evil forces. Tolkien was a pretty liberal dude but he kept it real and made civilized white men from the west the heroes and blacks, camel fuckers, Ching Chong’s and all non whites from the south and east agents of evil.
