Wrestling games have never really decided if they want to be simulation or arcade-like fun, OR if they should be competitive like a fighting game, or cooperative putting on an entertaining match. What wrestling is about.

So we just mostly get this weird hybrid that isn't very good.

Well yeah, but wwe 2k games are basically a type of fighting game thats pick up and play so it makes for a good pick, especially if your guest is familiar with wrestling or a fan.

My friend doesnt watch nor care for wrestling but he has alot of fun picking random wrestlers in 2k22 and getting into 3 and 4 way matches and enjoys 1 on 1s. And I enjoy playing more when he plays cuz sometimes we end up in the same matches and since he's not the pc my normal tactics go out the window and we get into some seriously crazy fights. Both of us have lost plenty of matches to the ai cuz we were caught up in our fight with eachother and suddenly 1 2 3 ding ding ding. Erik of the Viking Raiders just won the million dollar belt in a 4 way becuase himm and I couldnt stop brawling outside of the ring and erik got his special off on the million dollar man and got the pin. oops.
fun was had and we're looking forward to his next visit so we can continue the story arc

A lot of wrestling games have great gameplay, not just No Mercy. SvR games were also nice. I liked 2k16 as well. My favorite is FPWR, but I understand why most dislike it.

I have always loved both styles of gameplay. I have huge affinity towards Arcade delving into larger than life stuff part of wrestling like Allstars but wrestling games with realistic gameplay like 2k19, SVR11 are also something that I have extreme fun with and sunk hours into

What sort of people are working on it? This seems horribly planned and as if they're coming up with ideas on the fly rather than some strategized planning in relation to the game. That's what happens when you do not have a good department with experienced people. Yikes is ripping them off
