They were one of the most over things in the company in 1998 and it's only people with some bizarre hatred of Triple H who try to retroactively minimize it lol. They sold mountains of merchandise. It's revisionist history to try and downplay how popular DX was. Obviously the show revolved around Austin and McMahon but DX were still a hugely popular part of WWF at that time. The DX vs Nation rivalry was legendary and so was the WCW skit

97 DX is still good because it's coked-out Shawn talking shit. There was immature shit, but when he had to get serious or sell a match he was a god-tier heel.

98 DX aged horribly. It was HHH trying so hard to be funny and failing. Every other member was more over than he was by the end of the whole thing and part of the reason the NAO hated him for all those years was because HHH demanded to end it abruptly because he wasn't getting over.
