>>6369680I used to defend Sammy because I think he has decent charisma and while he's a flippy guy/spot monkey, in general he's fun to watch in his matches. But at this point they missed the chance with him a couple times, first when he was over when the IC vs Pinnacle was happening, and then when he got a lot of heat with Tay while feuding with Scorpio but for some reason they decided to make Scorpio act as a heel and confusing the audience. Now he's cold again so they sent him with Jericho again.
In general AEW has a record of not taking advantage of wrestler's momentun when they are over or get heat, and it's especially true for the homegrown talent, they just get them over, do some cool things and then they just make them get cold again for some reason. Darby also got to suffer from the same thing, he was one of the most over guys in the whole company, having good feud after good feud and then he was relegated to midcard multi-man feuds, we have yet to see if Jungle Boy is going to suffer the same destiny if he gets over when feuding with Christian. So far MJF has been the better booked of the four of them, but they seem to be waiting, but who knows if they'll wait for too long
