>>6372420The reboot movies are the only things that have a totally separate universe (the Kelvin timeline). Discovery, Picard and SNW are all set in the Prime universe where all old Star Trek took place. Despite the fact that they don't fit in with the canon those shows established at all, especially when it comes to the level of technology the Federation has access to.
The Kelvin timeline stuff was created to avoid pissing off old fans in that way. Now Hollywood doesn't give a shit about that sort of thing, and if anything seems to actively try to piss off old fans to generate controversy (which creates cash, in theory).
