WWE has superior facilities to whatever AEW has, if anything. WWE has a world-class Performance Centre, AEW probably has a few weights and a trampoline. It's basically Globogym vs Average Joe's at this point.

People get complacent and lazy when they don't have to fight for the main spotlight and get paid enough by doing the minimum effort and I suspect that's what Adam is getting.

Gets put into matches with top guys without going through the hurdles because his friends are evp's, gets handed tournament belts over better deserving guys because of backroom dealings...

Why work hard when your meme entrance gets enough pop and you sell merch for some god awful reason enough for your mark boss to think you are a draw?

For better or worse Cole was featured heavily on NXT and was basically set up as the top heel with the most important faction for a long time. Now he does what? He's like Young Buck groupie #5? He's another guy in an extended faction and he can't even pretend he is anywhere in the main event scene or even one of the best technical wrestlers on that show. So he has nothing but a fat contract and a right to play videogames. Oh and his wife legit has a bigger spot than he does. But its fine because honestly Cole was never good.

This is the answer. Everyone that gets signed to NXT had to start back at level 1 and go through the same shit everyone else does to get rid of their indie ego and prove no one is better than anyone else. He probably started getting lazy and was able to start skipping workouts when UE became the top "stars" and now that he's completely free with a boss that tries to everyone's best friend he has nothing holding himself accountable and as we've seen he needs that because he can't be left on his own or else we get AIDSY SMOL we see today.
