>>6442386So, like, would ROH be doing 800k people on cable or whatever the fuck if AEW doesn't get started? Is that what you mean by the same?
Does MLW sell out United and T-Mobile?
Genuinely curious on what you mean by the same.
Is the product GOOD? I dunno, kinda. When AEW is good it's fantastic, but Jon Moxley, while likeable at times and more than capable, isn't the greatest "World Champ" right now, But I'll be damned if shit like Team Taz, Jade, and whatever car-crash spotfest is on that week doesn't entertain the hell out of me.
ROH/NJPW was a fun era, but it didn't have that same buzz that AEW has now because WWE had yet to get that fucking putrid. People were hyped at the beginning of AEW's run because they just endured Dean Ambrose dressed as Bane, WWE fumbling the bag on Braun Strowman and the creeping realization that all the indie talent Paul and Regal snapped up at PWG shows were NOT going to get utilized properly, this AEW thing made people thirsty.
So when it was announced that Cody, Kenny and The Bucks were getting a bunch of money to start a promotion that would be on TNT, people lost their fucking minds. Then we saw shit like Jericho becoming the first champ, Cody blading with his brother and Mox debuting. It was the biggest breath of fresh air.
I wasn't watching that much, but the fucking difference in feeling between ROH/NJPW at MSG and Double Or Nothing 2019 was like comparing Halloween Havoc 1995 to Bash at the Beach 1996.
Wrestling would be pretty fucking bleak without AEW because recent WWE programming has shown that things aren't so good these days. WWE is a zombie, just because something is a staple of American culture like The Simpsons or The Tonight Show, doesn't mean it's good.
AEW is essentially, the Pepsi of professional wrestling; they even have Pepsi Man.
