NJPW has great matches but surely that's too much for anyone? I watched all 91 matches in the 2019 tournament. It was one hell of a slog. I just about got through it but I was fucking exhausted by the end. And I was a fucking NEET at the time, didn't even have anything to do all day and it was still a slog. I even started off watching the multiman tags at the beginning of each show but yeah that got old very quickly. Dropped those and forced myself to just get through all the tournament matches. My enjoyment had pretty much reached zero by the final, I was just hanging in there to get it done.
And this time around there's 116 matches. I've become a wagie in the meantime and I haven't even found time to watch a single match yet. Work and the surrounding hours are long and tiring, then looking after myself, upkeeping my home, then family commitments on the side. How the hell does anyone do it? Or is that the whole point, no one busy has ever actually watched a whole G1, only unemployed people? Because I just don't understand how anyone can have a job and still watch all 116 matches, maybe even all the multiman tag card filler too. In fact I'm struggling to see how wagiedom is compatible with any hobbies whatsoever. Since I started working I haven't had time for any hobbies, haven't watched any anime or anything. The best I manage is sneaking in a bit of 4chan on my phone on public transport and on the toilet, and occasionally around half an hour on my laptop before bed (what I'm doing now). Because I'm more tired from working and travelling, my sleep needs have increased so I have even less waking hours in which to find a moment for hobbies/interests. At this point I'm not sure when I'll ever watch wrestling (or anime) again...
