But even I know the entire reason for those complaints that night was because Reigns hate was still at an all-time high and dudes were looking for any and every reason to harshly criticize any moment connected to him
There was literally nothing wrong with how they did the camera work for that moment
The way they did it was great. Strange, never-heard-before music plays. The never-before-seen titantron hasn't made it clear yet who's coming out. The crowd is silent for a few seconds due to confusion, and Reigns look confused as well for a few seconds (it was great buildup to the pop, and those few seconds of silence/confusion highlighted the pop even more)
Then the titantron shows 'Phenomenal' off-screen. The pop happens, Reigns face changes, and the TV viewers' interest peaks because they want to know who the fuck is getting this big-ass pop and causing Reigns to react. Then they finally cut to Styles coming out. It was great.
If that was Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler or someone else that the camera stayed on that same night for those couple of seconds, damn near no one would have bitched about it and we all know it
