He's the torchbearer of modern Japanese wrestling. He's at the apex of his craft in the biggest promotion. Okada is carrying on the legacy of Inoki but also non-NJPW guys like Misawa, Kobashi, etc.

It was a big Fuck You to NOAH when he hit it on Marufuji. I don't know why he did it to Cobb. Usually when Okada does a stolen move before the last Rainmaker, it has some tie to the opponent.

They're just cool moves. Plenty of people use the Emerald Flowsion for example. That guy that said it was a "fuck you to NOAH" when he used it a couple of years back is the typical headcanon imbecile, it's just move stealing, one of the most basic and common things in pro wrestling, he used the move that beat him in the previous match..

Okada never steals his opponent's moves. He's never done that against any of his rivals (Tanahashi, Naito, Omega). There was obviously a deeper meaning behind it. I don't think it was meant as a fuck you to NOAH though.

Using Emerald Flowsion these days means nothing outside of the sphere of King's Road/NOAH. Like 3 people in Stardom are using some stupid looking variation of it.

Hiromu's Dynamite Plunger is technically an Emerald Flowsion, but it's a modified version of it under a different name.

Okada uses the original move under its original name in direct reference to Misawa.
