checked. And yes, this is the right answer. Cactus Jacks gimmick was being hardcore and insane. That is the gimmick that put him over. The dude love thing was just him having fun and being a little bit of a self-mark, and the mankind gimmick was shit. Vince was trying to rebrand him and it didnt work, but foley was so over that people ignored the stupid "mental patient hanging out in the boiler room" gimmick. We just wanted to see Cactus Jack do some crazy shit, we didnt care what name he used.

Maybe it's because I was older, but mankind seemed like too much of a cartoon character. Cactus Jack Manson seemed like a crazy guy who legit liked to hurt and scare people.
