Carlos Colon is the Puerto Rican Hulk Hogan. He's the biggest star ever out of there. You know his son Carlito from WWE and Epico and Primo Colon as well from WWE are usually all over the place.
Invader I - Colon's rival and the guy who killed Brody. Puerto Rico does not care at all about him doing that and he's heavily featured in IWA at the age of 76.
Puerto Rico is small. You get to the other side of the island in 2 hours, yet somehow they can have 6+ promotions there. From what I can find, promotions are always coming and going outside of IWA PR and WWC. The wikipedia for PR mentions about 20 different promotions since 2010 and virtually none of them exist anymore.
Puerto Rico got hot during the Attitude Era. They essentially copied it. We got some of the IWA PR shows from that era with Dutch Mantell on commentary and they are pretty good shows.
The shows are all under an hour and they show matches from the last show they did. Everything in PR wrestling is about live shows and because of it, you get a lot of promos and hyping up for big shows.
You may not be able to understand the promos, but youtube has a subtitles feature and you can translate them. It's better than nothing but some of these promos are good enough that you don't even really need to speak Spanish to get them.
Puerto Rico has a ton of masked guys. I like it, but it's often hard to figure out who is who with masked tag teams.
Puerto Rico loves GM/Authority Angles. Virtually every promotion has one going now.
