Nobody "owes" anyone anything. WWE is a content creator, and we are content consumers. If their content is good, we will consume it. If it's not good, we will complain and/or stop consuming it. It's really that simple, and it goes for any sort of producer/consumer relationship.
And any company that fails to address the concerns of their consumers will quickly find their business failing. I can say for certain that, if my customers began complaining that my work was shoddy, and I rebuffed them by saying I had no time to improve because I have kids, I would be out of a job real fucking quick. WWE is very lucky that they have been put in a position where they can even say idiotic BS like this without going out of business. Even big Hollywood directors with fuck-you money, who could never work again and be fine, would never say anything like that. It's quite ridiculous.
