Yes. It's Highly Fucking legal and encouraged. I don't agree with it and think it's uncle Sam getting involved in people's business but what is morally right vs legal are two different things. Even if you are a low man on the totem pole who drives the ring truck and got stock as some sort of employee purchase program the government is looking to fine companies that fuck up publicly and make it look like insider trading is going on.

Execs there are already limited to how much stock they can sell per year. This even applies to people who dont work there any more.
If you're under contract with a big company it's common that they will severely limit you legally to how you can interact with it, even well after you leave.

Wouldn't it be legal to trade once the news is out? If they sold before the Vince announcement then it might be insider trading, but once he tells the public, couldn't they argue they are trading on what is publicly known information?
