His first run with the company before he got fat and ugly maybe but it's not like the clique gave him a school teacher gimmick that he couldn't get over. Once he went back to ecw and grew that goatee and got walled his career was over and he was an indy lifer, which again the clique didn't force him to age

He was a promising young babyface in WCW, but the only time he would have gotten over at thetop was when he had the dimes ponytail/beard and mega-juiced look in 1998 with Francine in ECW, which is when his body broke down
He wasn't Jericho, but that doesn't mean the HBK wasn't threatened by him

He's just not the right type of character for wrestling though. He's too honest and outspoken.

Doesn't matter though. There was no chance of him getting over in WWE or WCW at the time. Only Heyman knew how to turn his perpetual go away heat into nuclear heat.
