i wouldn't have austin turn heel at all that year. i wouldn't have ecw and wcw aligned at all. eric bischoff needed to be the onscreen figurehead leader of wcw, not shane. shane was a disaster in that role. on promos, it should have been basically a feud of vince vs. eric vs paul heyman. if you have to involve ecw at all. the real meat and potatoes was always WCW vs WWF.

bring in jeff jarrett right away as the top wcw guy. he should be the first person from wcw people see. don't position WCW as being heels. put over WCW as a great promotion with a proud tradition and history with video packages etc. try to bring in scott steiner as soon as possible. bring in ric flair right away.

Flair vs Jarrett should have been the first WCW match. have one of them feud with Jericho after. Jericho, Rock, Austin, Angle and Undertaker are the top WWF guys with Austin being the leader. Top WCW guys are Jarrett (leader), long haired babyface DDP, Booker T, Scott Steiner. Kevin Nash and Rey Mysterio (babyface in mask not filthy animal version) come in early to join team wcw as well. main match to build to is Austin vs Jarrett. eventually you do a match of vince vs bischoff. vince wins. too bad Sid breaks his leg or i'd have him on the WCW team too. larry zbyszko runs in and puts vince in the sleeper. larry eventually becomes a gm.

the whole purchase was suicide. you would never be able to book a proper invasion since the big names didn't jump and keeping WCW as a separate "brand" also wouldn't work because the same dub chads that quit watching wouldn't just watch another show and didn't make sense to dilute the WWF brand from their perspective. just dumb all around.

It doesn't matter. The original idea was pretty based, WCW would win the Invasion and they'd get WCW Monday Night Raw. WWF would be SmackDown. But USA said absolutely not, they did not want WCW branded content and definitely did not want the WWE brand off of Raw. So there was no choice but to beat the Alliance. They couldn't even get an hour long late night weekend deadzone show for WCW, how can they win?

it wasn't even a threat at that point they were bottoming out by then even if bischoff found the investors to buy it (if we're working that it wasn't an inside job that it was) vince killed the wrestling business just to jerk himself off.

Have Austin and Jericho fight again the next night only for Austin to lose again
Vince comes out after the match and shoots a promo on Austin, he tries to fire him but Austin stuns Vince instead and turns babyface
Have Flair, Steiners, Jarrett, DDP, Booker T and RVD lead a invasion against WWE
Big Show grows his hair out and joins WCW calling himself the Giant again
Flair wins the WWF Championship at Invasion becoming a 17x champion, now WCW holds both title belts
