I just don't see how the promotion is going to be viable unless it's expected to be a developmental money loser.

It's getting Dark level numbers whether it is on TV or youtube, at best. And people aren't watching 5 shows a week, so those shows are going to decline too.

It depends what Tony wants out of it. I think he's just trying to get a tv deal and do another AEW, but he should really try and turn it into the north American NJPW and run shitloads of shows and PPVs and brand yourself as the pure wrestling live event promotion. No commercials or dumb Jericho gimmick bullshit. I think people seriously overestimate the benefits of cable TV for distribution too in the age of the internet when you can just tell your fans directly where you're going to be running.

Average person doesn't watch developmental feds and no matter what AEW does, ROH is going to be seen as the developmental or secondary fed for a long time.

If they can make Yuta exclusive to ROH, they won't have any issue reaching 500k. Claudio is a draw as champ and Yuta as pure champ is something the tv networks really like to see. Two big 6 foot brutes that look like the real deal. Then you add a supporting cast of Rush, Lethal, Samoa Joe, Bandido, Woods, Lee, and Cabana and you already have a better roster than AEW.

Notice the lack of botches last night.

Kind wild Yuta is the Pure champ now. He was in ROH before it went defunct, and fought against Gresham in the pure tournament. Now Yuta is the pure champ and Gresham flipped out and got fired/quit.

i remember during the pandemic, roh started to somewhat rebrand and held a tournament and thats where i saw yuta. thought he had potential. also towards the end of roh last year, moriarty joined. he should stick with roh. hes gotten overshadowed by yuta and garcia in aew.

ROH were the ones who fucked that up though by working with AAA aligned wrestlers weren't they? If Tony could respect a total split and only allow CMLL wrestlers on one show and AAA wrestlers on the other CMLL could potentially go for that.

What happened is the CMLL office fell out with La Faccion Ingobernable and expected ROH to "fall in line" with that, despite the small matter of the Ingobernables holding most of the ROH gold.

I used to be a big ROH fan, but these new ROH shows just feel off. They're not ROH shows. They're just episodes of Dynamite with an ROH logo slapped on it.

Also, was there ever any explanation why they're using the old belts again? They just make ROH look cheap.

They're using the old logo again. Of course, Tony is a mark for the wrestling he grew up with, so he had to make sure ROH was the EXACT one he liked in the 2000's.

I feel pretty much the same way except I get why they're using the old belts and it's not all on Tony. Pure wasn't redesigned when they brought it back, Gresham winning the old World Championship was a symbolic thing for Final Battle and informed the match with Bandido for the Undisputed title, and FTR getting the old school tag belts is the only one on Tony. I think they should have redesigned the entire suite of belts before this ppv but as long as it comes soon it will be fine.
