I just watched Raw for the first time in years and the differences were small but holy shit they made a difference. Everything is so much more natural, the matches have more time, the promos from rey, roman, Heyman were so much less scripted. It ain't perfect they still do DQ's and they just buried Theory but he's a bitch so fuck it. All WWE needed to be was watchable and this show is so much more digestible than the last time I watched. What does AEW have that can compete with that.

small changes are just enough to make people switch. once you take away unscripted promos, and longer matches with no Dqs what else does AEW have going for it. I expect AEW to crater hard in the coming months even if Punk and Omega return. AEW can survive as the comfortable number 2 but they will never surpass WWE and they will continue to dwindle until the gap is incredibly sizeable.

Modern WWE has always been about storylines over in-ring work. There's only so much material to work with when you "need" 12 year olds to be able to still follow along with everything. No Podesta, but fuck them kids. We need more maturity in WWE.
