most of the boys hated them because they thought they were just punk ass rappers that got the red carpet rolled out for them to the locker room. nobody ever bothered to ask their history with the business. they actually go pretty far back and have paid their dues. but to be honest, nobody really liked them.

to be fair, esham had maybe 3 good albums MAX. but in those 3 albums, his influence was immense. same as awesome dre. his only real good album is You Can't Hold Me Back. but holy SHIT that's a good album. go listen to YCHMB and you can hear how icp got their early sound.

I like his samples but before I listened to his albums I had a feeling the quality wasn't going to be top notch since he releases what 20 songs per album. They're not awful but a lot of songs don't seem to stand out.
