>>6544939>And don’t say because it’s lowbrow because video games are considered lowbrow, anime is lowbrow, certain tv shows and genres of music are considered lowbrow but even their fans aren’t as looked down upon as wrestling fans are for their passion and enthusiasm for wrestling.I think there is still a stigma about watching pro wrestling that has held over from the territory days when many people still thought it was real. Alot of people still see wrestling fans as uneducated, poor, redneck etc. This obviously isn't the case anymore but stereotypes persist (how many times have you seen someone try to ridicule wrestling for being gay?) Add to that the fact that there are "casuals" that actively shit on wrestling outside of their comfort zone, the weird invisible difference of marks and smarks (its the same thing, if you know enough about some indy wrestler to hate on them, you have become a smark).
