I watched Shinya Hashimoto vs. Genichiro Tenryu from the 1998 G1 Climax the other day and it is probably the best straight up fight in NJPW's history. Like a strong style Austin/Bret WM13.

Based match. My favorite is vs. Yamazaki from that G1. The best slugfest I've ever seen in my life, Yamazaki working Hashimoto's legs since Hashimoto is a kicking guy and Hahsimoto's incredible selling throughout the match, I was on the edge despite knowing the result.

I watched that little Forbidden Door doc they put up on njpwworld and Regal talks extensively about challenging Hashimoto for the title without once mentioning Hashimoto. Very weird.
