Moxley is the top guy essentially. He's just facing random midcarders in forgettable solid matches. This is not must-see TV. Tomorrow, he faces RUSH. Who is going to tune in to see this guy who hasn't been established on AEW TV? people haven't been given a reason to care. They need to do a program with him. This all feels like filler until Punk is healed. a good booker should be able to pivot to something else

These guys have been feuding for too long. It's not fresh, it's not interesting. If you tuned into AEW in May, Eddie was raving about killing Jericho. It's nearly August and he's still trying to kill this guy. Move on. It should have ended at Blood and Guts

In the span of like two months, AEW has done so many gimmick matches. they lose their meaning. they got to dial it back and rely on their storytelling

No Punk, No Kenny, Danielson is off. Regardless on how you feel about them as draws, they are their top guys. Missing them hurts.

when was the last time there was a huge angle that made you want to tune in next week to see where it goes? MJF's promo? That was two months ago and there's been zero follow-up

This, unironically. They'll never admit it, they'll try and find some other thing to blame, and they might be right in a way. But, the bloom started coming off the rose when Hangman won the title and it became clear they didn't plan beyond that. They only booked for the big Hangman overcomes his former friend and becomes champion finish, happy ending, roll credits. Everything after was clearly written by the skin of their teeth. Don't get me wrong, Hangman is a good worker, and he did cut the occasional good promo when he allowed himself to emote and express feelings. But for the most part, his reign was really predictable, he dragged his feet for the most part as his character never really developed beyond "I'm not sure about myself :(" which was the exact same character he did before he won the title. As champion he should have felt himself more, been a little more confident. Instead, people just stopped tuning in to see the reluctant cowboy go over the guy who was never expected to win it in the first place. Punk winning the title was a step in the right direction, opinions on Punk aside, but him getting injured and him not vacating it put AEW right back into square one in terms of people giving a shit about the show and tuning in.

I think that Hangman reign was the point in which they started to decline really fast, but I don't know if I would say that he was the main factor. At that time Tony started with the debuts all the time and he almost stopped building guys like he used to do, and the ones that he spent time building got forgotten in favor of new guys. Tony started booking for ADHD people that want something new all the time, so there's no real focus, not even the world champ has been getting the same attention as it used to have when Jericho, first Moxley's reign or Kenny was holding the belt.
The only good thing Tony did in recent times was Wardlow, because he spent enough time for it, but besides that AEW has been really underwhelming compared to the first 2 years

Reality is though the ROH purchase was really fucking retarded and added more onto his plate and he insisted on running the whole thing as well.
I don't know why he didn't just get the library. Tony cares too much about Twitter, so decided to buy the fucking company instead and then insisted on being the guy booking the whole thing. He's in way over his head now. The interim thing is another problem. He had no idea what the fuck to do once Punk got injured and now he has Mox holding the (not) belt for no reason. He's not doing anything at all but having good matches, but none of it matters.

Meanwhile, he lets guys like Jericho and Bucks make decisions and their decisions are fucking killing the show. Jericho's gimmick is the epitome of, "ironic shitposting is still shitposting." and what's worse is that the nigga refuses to lose feuds. It's literally the same shit that people were annoyed with Cody.
