Trios belts are a great device for getting more guys on TV and keeping people fresh. Trios usually end up on your low mid-mid carders and big name guys get put in trios matches to give them some less impactful matches with the least over guy eating the pin.

ROH literally is just aew without the bigger names. they don't have tv. they only get defended and built up on aew tv and roh ppvs. they're literally aew belts at this point and will be until tony can find a deal for roh (which i do not believe he ever will unless he just turns dark orlando into roh and gives it to warner for streaming for dirt cheap)

It's a bad idea for a lot of reasons - injuries, the top stars will not be in trios matches on big shows, 6-man tags aren't really a draw, it means less time for other divisions, it's going to be hard to find new teams and it will take a lot of work to book right.

In Toryumon/DG, the Trios titles were used to push the storylines of the main event. It allowed them to have stakes without putting on the line a singles title (either Inter Jr, UDG, or OtDG). It's basically what you have been seeing with their big faction wars already with Blood & Guts or Stadium Stampede but now they can do it without gimmick rules.

Wether they actually do that and not just throw it on the Wingmen is an entirely different issue.
