This is speculation but I think the motivation to let JB kill him and not just killing him himself was when he threw getting Marko Stunt fired in his face.

JB has to beat Christian. has to.
Jungle Boy has literally no credible 1v1 wins in his career. His biggest solo win was eliminating Christian at DoN to win.

I doubted this, but just looked.
the biggest 1v1 wins he has are vs. Bobby Fish and Dax Harwood, 2 tag team guys. He also had a 10min draw vs. Jericho way back when on one of the first Dynamites.

He really has not defeated anybody worth a shit. Christian is doing the lords work by legitimizing him as a singles.
