  From June 2021
>According to an article released today in Forbes, AEW are reportedly still working in the red despite their $175 million broadcast deal with WarnerMedia. It is stated in the article that the main reason for the company failing to turn a profit overall, is an “eight-figure investment in video game development.”
Let's do some speculative math here:
>AEW Game Development as of June 2021 was over $10,000,000
>Khan paid $30-$40 million for ROH
>AEW/ROH's 150 talents under contract: Yearly payroll would be $30,000,000 if they average $200k per year. Could be more, could be less.
>Not to mention broadcast team, agents, office people and contracted laborers who set up venues
>AEW buys its own tickets like every single promoter (wrestling or otherwise) does. No idea what this costs.
There's no way that this company is profitable. It could be a money laundering front for whatever Shad Khan is actually doing. If you take that into consideration, AEW's business decisions make a lot more sense, but fuck. What a mess.
