because in AEW, you have a chance of becoming heavyweight champion if you're under 5'10'' and a manlet. But in NXT, you were never going to make it big on the main roster.

I gave up on NXT when Vince started the mass callups. He pulled everyone out from great storylines just to trot them in front of the audience for a ratings pop, then promptly ruined them and forgot about them. I found it hard to invest in any NXT storylines or characters after that because the end would seemingly always be the same.

Black and Gold NXT was and still is my favorite weekly wrestling show of all time. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that its only wrestling show i watched from episode one right to the end, i was most enthusiastic about wrestling at the time and it was a project of my all time favorite wrestler Triple H. Also a lot of new faces, good action, amazing storylines. i loved everything about NXT and i stayed with NXT untill its death:(

This. The IWC wanted an alternative product and loved NXT but hated the specter of Vince looming over everyone that was built up on the show. A lot of what made them cool was ruined by Vince immediately on being called up and as soon as an actual alternative that didn't have Vince behind it showed up, they all jumped ship.
