If I see a biological woman who identifies as a woman and I dislike her for whatever reason I will misgender her by calling her "sir" or "bro" or refer to her as mannish. That is a bit rude but it isn't illegal.
To put it in alphabet terms, it is not illegal to misgender a ciswoman. It's just crass.
In Canada, it is a crime to misgender a transwoman. People are pushing for similar laws in America.
And I have to wonder whether or not it is even trans people arguing for such things. I think it's mostly cis Karens pushing this shit. I think trans people probably understand this shit makes people hate them even more and transpeople don't fucking want anymore hate.
This social movement of yours is counterintuitive to the peaceful life most transpeople want.
