>>6637757I don't think it's win-win honestly. If anything, the last few years prove that a bloated roster is a massive headache for a wrestling company to have. WWE got better after letting go of the dead weight, AEW got worse after picking it up. There's no reason for WWE to go back to their old strategy of hoarding talent.
Think about it like this, AEW has signed a ton of guys and most have done nothing. Outside of their initial roster, which full time wrestlers have actually been real positive additions? I'd say Bryan, Punk, Miro and Claudio. Maybe I forgot someone, but that's 4 names out of the countless they signed. And Miro already struggles to get on TV, and who knows whether Tony will keep using Claudio in the long run.
It's clear that companies have to be very choosy with who they sign or they'll run into trouble. WWE already figured that out and if Gaytch is smart they have no reason to make the same mistake again. AEW may or may not have realized it by now but Tony Khan wants to be seen as a good guy and probably doesn't have the balls to get rid of all the guys who can't get on TV. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if AEW tries a brand split sometime soon to alleviate the problem.
