Even though guys like Bret Hart, HBK, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, and Eddie Guerrero were considered undersized, you don't realize it at all unless you see them in person.
Its the same in other sports. Television just does not accurately show size. Basketball and football guys seem much smaller than they are if you see them in real life. The tube makes everyone look medium sized.
