Wrestling was never ment for unwashed fat virgins, it was for normal americans.

Make edgier, more serious content and put in enough things (ex. bigger guys, hotter women, more "sports entertainment") that pisses of smarks. WWE has unironically become more profitable by pissing of the smarks. Once AEW came on the scene they finally had some place to quarantine the smarks and the smark wrestlers. They let AEW "beat" NXT, got rid of skinny shitters like Cole and revamp it with young, good looking athletes. Smarks hate NXT 2.0 and I see that as a positive sign for the future.
