It looks stupid because it's a leg DROP. By doing a shooting star, you're legitimately moving in the complete opposite way of the leg drop's intended effect so it's more of a shooting star scoot. A shooting star dropkick would honestly make more sense. Even standard shooting star presses do because the person doing the SSP usually jumps higher so he comes down with more force.
