Kofi never had any real follow through or spotlight through his entire reign. He never got to main event and they never changed his character despite his entire chase to the championship being all about how super serious and competitive he is now. He was left with the same pancake throwing, gyrating, goofy minstrel act that he was supposed to do away with. He basically had the same reign as the first part of Punk’s 434 day reign but on the B show and without any character shift. And then after a journey where the story is about Kofi’s resilience, they book him to lose the title in under 10 seconds.
Big E had the same problem as Kofi but even worse since his win was a cash in for a cheap pop and never got the “I earned this” moment that Kofi did which is a shame since it’s something that was building since they met at the Rumble and they had their Hoss off.
