They go to indy shows, they see wrestlers having these matches with tons of highspots and kickouts and they think, "Wow, people love this. If every match was like this, more people would watch". What they don't see though is that the people who are most into these matches are smarks and they have different tastes from the main audience and aren't that large of a community. There's no real way for them to see that either outside of WWE shows, because most people don't post about wrestling online and the ones who do understand it get banned or harassed into leaving on various smark sites like turdcircle, F4W, OfficialFan and other sites.
The wrestlers all end up being small because they work cheap and they can do the most highspots and big moves since they have no weight behind them and are easy to throw around. And over the last few years, leftists figured out that they can bring politics into this by pushing women, trannies, comedy and intergender wrestling. And without a doubt, kids will be next.
That's how you end up with people like Garcia, Yuta, Stunt, Jungle Boy, The Bucks and others who are some of the smallest pro wrestlers ever seriously pushed. And as wrestling continues to lose popularity thanks to a variety of things including the wrestlers getting smaller and more feminine, you can probably expect more of it.
