Okada challenged last year after he won the tournament and carried the old belt, he beat Shingo Night 1. Then he defended against Ospreay, who had his claim as champion and never lost, carrying a copy of the belt that needed to be unified.

So if Shingo wins G1, why wouldn't he challenge Jay White on Night 1?
why does Okada losing, somehow mean he will get the title shot first?
