Companies I've been involved with have a limit of 10k (£ or $) or less. It's generally a digital signature system right up to $1m, then above that needs direct conversations at board level etc. Each stage requires a lot of documentation and external auditors too (someone like Deloitte or PWC). So for him to have made singular payments of this size unknown to anyone but himself is strange. And all this before even thinking about how they'd get the money - like, do they raise a purchase order and it gets invoiced or is it BACS payment? Someone needs to facilitate that, a team of people needs to make that happen. And who are they making the payment to? They would need to be setup as a vendor or something, their bank details checked to ensure no fraud / criminality, etc.
Dunno. Maybe he did do it. But seems a bit dumb to me, if WWE's internal processes are this slack then maybe but I doubt they are that bad.
