It's the only place in Tokyo resembling an American style steakhouse. Bruiser went there because he was an old fashioned guy who basically ate red meat and nothing else and it was the only place at the time he could get it. Other people then went their on his recommendation as being the only place in Tokyo you could get a steak. Fast forward a few years and all the shitters go there now.

Its safe to eat at, but thats not saying much since you can have steak raw. The steaks themselves are cooked in non stick pans and don't really get any kind of sear. The chefs preference is also to serve it rare.

Fucking truth. I have never had such shit food than I did when I was in Japan. The only thing they have us beat in is their price/quality ratio in convenience store shit...it blows away even Wawa or QT. If you want a good steak or anything with actual flavor good fucking luck and take out a loan.

It’s pretty freakin delicious. I went there one time, paid my respects, and told them I was huge fan of sports entertainment and wanted to eat the same meal as Undertaker. They gave me a pretty badass steak, I got some pics, and I had a great time. It was expensive but worth it.

That wasn't true even in Bruiser's age. It's just that the Steakhouses in Japan are generally pretty expensive and Ribera was not only really cheap (due to being shit) at the time but the owner was a mark for pro-wrestlers that gave them discounts on top.

Maybe that was true in the late 70's and early 80's but it is not true now. Tokyo is the largest city on the planet. There are a ton of steakhouses.
