How is it possible that they can’t at least get a million viewers? If you show this roster to a lapsed fan there are more recognizable names here then in the current WWE.

This list screams late 2000s and early 2010s WWE (apart from Samoa Joe who was in TNA at the time), and that era was shit if you weren't a 5-10 year old zoomer.

The average person probably doesn't even know AEW exists let alone has so many recognizable names. Maybe they'd get more exposure if they actually did anything exciting beyond shit that involved MJF which they never capitalize on. They way it is now, it's a promotion built for wrestling fans by a wrestling fan. That doesn't even mean it's bad, it's just not going to attract any new or lapsed viewers since it's been like 20 years since anybody gave a shit about wrestling.

You can have whoever you want. If all they do is wrestle long boring flippy acrobatic matches and there are no storylines to be invested in and wanting to tune in next week nobody but existing fans will care. And it's not just few shows you need to write to get people invested, you need to do it week after week after week until word starts to spread. Nobody outside of smarks will tune in for LE HECKIN YUMMY MATCH CARD

And SummerSlam now it seems. For a while it didn't seem like a big deal as it used to be, but 2022 really seemed to redeem it and catch the attention of casuals again and even celebrities (Kid Rock, Kat Dennings etc.) Not a huge deal I suppose, but it's a start it seems. I just hope Paul doesn't ruin the momentum.

thats all nick khan, making summerslam the mania of the summer is a genius move. people make fun of them tarping off half a stadium but its all about optics, in a few years theyll be selling those out legitimately since peoples perception of summerslam will be that its a big deal like that.

This is why I've been saying that they should just do 4 pay-per-views (Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series) a year like they used to in the old days. That way they'll mean even more and even have longer gaps to build angles/feuds. Wishful thinking though.

yeah but they dont have the actual star main eventers of that era, cena edge batista carder shawn paul rey, they got the secondary stars in washed up hardys, christian (whos still great tbf) and jericho who was an uppermidcarder most the time.
