The rock n roll rpm are bootleg r n r but their work is solid. Bruiser Brody is where mick Foley seems to have got a lot of his sauce from. Chicky Starr has a lot of poise and seemed to cut a really good promo. Lots of kids in attendance which is always fun because they react so organically as opposed to smarked out crowds today.

Mid south: ernie Ladd was on commentary. He has great delivery but didn't really say anything of value, maybe he was having an off day. The work in the ring was a lot of laying in holds which my zoomed brain has trouble maintaining attention.

Mid south: reflecting on the in ring work. I really don't like it. I know back then the tv was like a commercial for the live shows, but the style is so bland. Say what you will about aew but the action is so frantic you pay more attention. I think it also looks kinda phony but in a different way. It looks like burly guys having a cartoonish Popeye fight in slow motion. Puerto Rico is way better, the pace is quicker and everyone seems on edge and violent.

If the mid south shows are generally like this, then bill dundee deserves lots of credit for switching things up when he takes over booking. The only mid south I've seen before this is a midnight express compilation set, but it's probably not fair to judge based on highlights vs watching weekly tv

Mid south:
Lots of lockups,mat wrestling and chain wrestling, feels slower than current wrestling but much more meaning is put into "explosive" moves and moments and finishes come more out of nowhere and are actually unexpected. The only bad thing is some of the overselling on strikes but this is before mma became mainstream. Also King Cobra is Based for spamming dropkick.

WWC:
Well would you look at that tag matches that actually make sense and follow rules. Brody making people scatter got a KEK out of me and his match was the best one despite being a huge squash, wwc has fast paced matches but not to the point where moves become blended together. Also strikes are sold better on this one

I've tried to marathon Mid-South from the beginning, but I had to tap out after about 5 episodes or so. I fucking love gritty technical wrestling and generally prefer 'boomer' style wrestling over FLIPZ and MEWVZ, but it was way too dull. When exactly does Dundee get the book? I wanna start watching from there.
