In the 00s he was predominantly an MMA guy. UFC and Pride were exciting and its takeover seemed inevitable.
In wrestling AJPW died and the PIllars were dusted and broken up, NJ was in one of its worst periods, WCW died, TNA wasn't a homerun with smarks and wasn't competition to WWE which was in the Triple H/RA era with few bright spots.
