Dana White and Vince Mcmahon used to be close. Dana would get Vince's opinion on how he would book the UFC, who the main stars should be. Dana uses this advice and gives certain UFC fighters exemptions for drug testing so they can squash all the other talent.

There's actually some video evidence for this one. Bret Hart's injuries that led to his retirement were played up. Lloyd's of London insured wrestlers in the 90s, where they would give them a huge pay out if they were injured to the point they could no longer compete. Curt Hennig and Animal both went on to have more matches after receiving their pay out. Bret intentionally had shit matches on TV, but when defending the US title on house shows was doing pretty much every move he was known for. He could barely walk on TV but was hitting piledrivers and the second rope elbow on cell phone footage from house shows.
