>>6846582A lot is being made of the big increase in this week's AEW Rampage number with suggestions of the rise in numbers being due to a stronger than usual lead in.
The lead in for Rampage last week did 421,000 viewers and a 0.137 in the demo. This was Rampage's strongest lead in since Friday 8th July where the Friday Movie on TNT that night did 618,000 viewers and a 0.14 rating. With that significantly stronger lead in on July 8th, Rampage only managed 428,000 viewers and a 0.15 rating in the demo. That was down from the previous week's Rampage which drew 486,000 and 0.16 in the demo despite having a weaker lead in that would have drawn sub 0.13 in the demo. It's also well below the 528,000 and 0.17 that Rampage did this week.
That would imply that the lead in had little to do with the increase this week. However, a look at the quarters may shed further light on this. Even then, with Danielson being in the opening quarter, there is not much we can ascertain, even if there is a big drop off as that's what you would have expected. If there is a big drop off after the first quarter, I put this stronger than usual number down to Danielson.
