How many cage matches have ended by someone just walking out the door (without some added bullshit of the face being beaten down by interference, or handcuffed or whatever)?

It seems like the door was only ever added as a logistical thing to get them inside the cage in the first place, so they can lower the cage before the match rather than after the entrances.

You guys are thinking too hard.
If you insist on having a door to get in the ring, just make the rule that you cannot leave thru it to win. That way, you can lower the cage whenever you fuckin want. And you get rid of all those door spots that are played out AF.

I think you can even win by pinfall or submission. Get rid of that shit too! I've seen cage matches where the cage is hardly touched.
Only way to win should be over the top. PERIOD.

you're on the right track. the door and pinfall stipulations were added because wrestlers simply got lazy. idk when it started, but I'm guessing during the Cena Era when he was battling fat fucks like Umaga in cages.
