They had a good variety of main eventers some years ago (Suwama, Miyahara, Zeus, Ishikawa, Doering, outsiders like Sekimoto and Marufuji), but they needed to create new stars.
Naoya Nomura and Atsushi Aoyagi haven't break out yet. Kento Miyahara already did everything there is to do in All Japan. Jake Lee was getting over, and then SUWAMA defeated him for the title.
I said it here before, if they wanted an old fuck to beat Jake Lee, it should've been Nagata.

Nomura is the best of that next wave generation. He still moves akwardly but he has that autism about him that can be ace material. Aoyagi is just happy to be there mark contract type of guy and Jake is just not IT man. Guy is a charisma vacuum. Regardless it is still bleak and their midcard is shidieriffic horrible

NOAH ain't much better, they tease you with promise that they are going in the right direction just for them to undercut everyone next month by letting the boomers run the asylum. Also they have fuck you money from Abema that are incuring 10x more expenditure to bring in said old fucks for little to no gains and no one is attending their shows outside of the same 300 hardcore NOAH fans. Right now they are having their G1 equivalent in semi big arenas and it is 80% empty for these shows. It is one huge farce with unlimited budget and fancy prodcution, lighting, cameras to make it appear grander than it actually is

I don't follow AJPW that much, but I'll take your word about Nomura and Aoyagi. They also have a better Yoshi Tatsu.
I also 100% agree on the state of their midcard and below.

Shame that All Japan isn't part of Cyberfight. They would greatly improve with a partnership with NOAH and DDT. At least that way they could put the Triple Crown on someone from those companies for a little bit while sorting out the rest of their main event and not just resorting to Suwama and Kento in an endless loop.

NOAH has a stronger roster and when it is booked right it has better highs than even NJPW but NOAH's lows are extremely bad. Plus having Kojima hold their main title when one of NOAH's strong suits right now is a strong main event scene is embarrassing. At least AJPW can say their junior division is borderline nonexistent so Tiger Mask holding it is whatever.

I don't want AJPW to disappear. It will sound like a boomer take, but All Japan is such an important piece of wrestling's history that it should remain alive, even if it now looks like an indie promotion. The legacy of the Triple Crown should continue. I just want AJPW to partner with NOAH and DDT because of how much talent they could loan from there, because as far as New Japan goes, they don't seem to be up sending guys like Goto or Ishii to finally have a world title reign, and instead send their old fucks (Based old fucks, but still old fucks).

They are doing the Royal Road tournament right now. They just brought back The Voodoo Murderers and they announced that their new rookie who has high expectations is debuting soon.

They really had a good group of guys a couple years ago but Sai left to do Land's End Pro Wrestling, Bodyguard's focusing on Colega, Zeus is bringing back Osaka Pro, Dylan James is gone plus they lost Koji Iwamoto, Francesco Akira and lost Nomura as a full-time guy, who seemed to be the future star. They turned Jake Lee heel which hasn't been good too.

They are going to do a women's division and that may finally come to fruition soon.

They need to get something going though. They need to scout some new rookies and they need some new stars ASAP.

AJPW just doesn't have the big money NJPW or DDT/NOAH has which isn't gonna help in terms of finding young talent, plus the AJPW dojo seems pretty slow at churning people out. Fairly Takagi is a whiz at finding young talents for DDT but NOAH doesn't have him rearrange their dojo to funnel in more guys either which is beyond me.

The women are kind of money making machines right now. Stardom's the #2 promotion in Japan and TJPW is in the Top 8 IIRC.

It's basically a no-lose situation with them:

- Even if they are awful in the ring, men don't care because they are there to see hot girls.

- The women sell a bunch of merch, because everyone thinks they are in relationships with them because they bought their photo at shows.

- They have no competition from other athletics because women's sports sucks

- They get good PR from the media for having women.
