The sad thing is that they were growing despite direct competition from WWE and being on a channel in fewer homes. People legit got invested in these characters and acts they hadn't seen before. It felt fresh and exciting. The reason it's falling now is that it's turned into WWElite. CM Punk has marked a turning point in the company and it's only going down from there. I miss old AEW...

The real reason is lack of video packages to get you invested into characters or a match and most matches have super predictable booking so the overall product feels skippable.
