They are also trying to stay face with the people and know that they would get nuclear/go away heat if they try and win for the belts now. FTR currently also have the IWGP tag belts and World Tag League will be coming in November, in which they have to do 9 block matches and possibly defend them at WK17.
Omega himself also just came back and he is also an injury away from retiring and with AEW's subpar ratings and booking, they can't afford to lose him.
There are also more than enough trios groups in AEW to merit a use for these titles and they can all compete and feud across from each other for the belts.
